Frymaster Deep Fryer Preventative Maintenance Checklist

Frymaster Deep Fryer Preventative Maintenance Checklist

Fryers cook the best fast food, which means keeping them clean is essential for kitchen operations. Cleaning an oily fryer can sound intimidating, but it can be easy when you have a clear checklist to mark off tasks. Follow our Frymaster deep fryer preventative maintenance checklist to get all essential cleaning completed.

Why is Preventative Maintenance Important?

Why is preventative maintenance for fryers so important? Clean Frymaster fryers are the foundation for a longer lifespan. Staying up to date on daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly maintenance means you can prevent build-up from wearing out components. Preventative maintenance allows units to avoid malfunctions that come from daily wear-and-tear.

Common Signs Your Frymaster Needs Maintenance

Knowing the signs of build-up is extremely helpful when operating a deep fryer. Some signs that your fryer might require some extra cleaning steps include:

  • Oil degrades too fast
  • Temperature recovery slows down
  • Frequent error codes
  • Oil foaming or smoking
  • Unevenly cooked food
  • Filtration system lagging or pump not circulating

Daily Cleaning and Maintenance Checklist

From filtering to keeping oil clean, daily tasks should include any of the following to ensure fryers can function all day:

Weekly Cleaning Checklist

Check off any of these on your weekly to-do list to keep your fryer functioning perfectly:

  • Boil out frypot
  • Inspect and clean fry baskets and sediment screens
  • Clean gas valve vent tube
  • Clean inline filter
  • Check fryer flue for obstructions
  • Inspect casters, legs, and leveling

Monthly Preventative Maintenance Checklist

Monthly preventative maintenance is the time to get deep-cleaning completed. You can get to parts that you can’t get to during daily cleaning or shutdown.

  • Check controller set point accuracy
  • Inspect o-rings, gaskets and seals
  • Tighten drain valve components
  • Check and clean pre-filter
  • Clean behind and underneath fryer
  • Inspect power cords and gas hoses for wear or damage
  • Inspect filter pan, filter paper/screens, hoses and connections

Quarterly Preventative Maintenance Checklist

When it comes to quarterly cleaning checklists, inspect and clean the following to maintain your fryer:

  • Calibrate cooking controls, timers, and temperature sensors
  • Inspect gas pressure
  • Check venting and airflow
  • Replace worn o-rings, gaskets and seals
  • Deep clean frypot exterior
  • Inspect and clean filtration system, hoses, probes and return lines

Annual/Periodic Inspections

If you want your Frymaster deep fryer to have the longest lifespan it can, you need to schedule period inspections and adjustments from certified service agents. Having your fryer inspected at least annually can help you avoid costly malfunctions.

Please contact a factory authorized service agent who can help with these specific units and all your commercial kitchen equipment needs.
